A Labour of Love

Stable Cottage‘s sunny, lavender-scented private patio

No regrets

With so much land to maintain and extensive gardens to develop, Malcolm and Clare rarely have a moment to themselves. This is a labour of love, and they don’t regret moving to this idyllic area, surrounded by the beauty and tranquillity of the French countryside.

Since arriving here, their feet have literally not touched the ground. April 2021 saw them undertake restructuring and the renovation of their traditional stone farmhouse, which practically doubled its size; a partial renovation of the stables and then fencing twenty-one acres of paddocks and woodland quickly followed.

Your hosts Clare and Malcolm, are the first to admit that it has been a labour of love, renovating this traditional stone farmhouse into two luxury gites

Upgraded Facilities

Next, it was time to turn their attention to the two gites situated on the estate. Although previously let as holiday cottages, Malcolm and Clare wanted their guests to walk through the door and immediately feel at ease. No expense has been spared. Existing facilities have been upgraded, new kitchens, en-suites and bathrooms installed. So, together with the private, pretty gardens, this is the perfect place to relax, rewind and recharge.

Now that both gites are fully renovated they can relax a little themselves. They look forward to welcoming guests to their home and these beautiful character properties. Malcolm and Clare are living their best life in France and hope to make your stay here just as wonderful – and full of fantastic memories that last a lifetime!

Stable Gite – traditional features carefully combined with modern facilities

..”fantastic hosts”...

A lovely British style farm in the middle of France. The owners, Clare and her husband, are fantastic hosts, kind and careful. The house, refined and restructured, lies in the countryside, 10 min from la Châtre, offering a piece of experience in nature, with horses, goats, and sheep. Definitely worth it for a break outside the city. Absolutely recommended for children.” ~ Rocco, July 2023 (View on AirBnB.com)
